Glue in Hair Extension

Hair Extensions are used to change a person's appearance by making his or her hair look longer and fuller, or by adding colour. It is common for women who desire to quickly have longer hair to use hair extensions to achieve the desired length. These extensions can be clipped, glued, sewn, or woven into a person’s natural hair. To glue hair extensions, you will need extension wefts and the proper glue, which can usually be purchased at beauty supply stores. Glue hair extensions adhere best to hair that is freshly washed and completely dry. Unless using specialized extensions that are wavy or curly, extensions generally work best on hair that is first straightened. Wavy, curly, and textured hair extensions typically are designed to accommodate all hair types.

It usually is easier to manage hair and place the glue hair extensions after separating the hair into smaller sections. Once the hair is in sections, you can then begin working layer by layer from the bottom up. A long-handled rattail comb can be helpful in parting the hair and managing any tangles. Cut the weft of hair to the width of desired hair sections, and apply the bonding glue along the top of the hair wefts. Finally, press the weft to the hair about 1/2-inch (about 1.27 cm) away from the scalp. This process can be sped up by using heat, such as from a hair dryer, to dry the glue for 30 to 45 seconds. The number of extensions needed varies by how much bulk is desired. Most professionals that glue hair extensions prefer to use wefts that are 1/2 inch (about 1.27 cm) or less wide, and place them on small sections of the hair all over the scalp. This helps create a more natural look and makes the extensions easier to style and care for.

Some types of Hair Extensions are made with glue already applied to the tips. These are called "pre-tipped" and require an extension iron to melt the glue and connect it to the hair. This makes them easier to apply in smaller sections all across the head and reduces any possible mess. Another type of glue hair extensions requires hot glue and a glue gun, and is generally performed only by professionals in a salon. Most glue hair extensions will last up to three months before needing to be touched up or re-applied, but should be checked every few weeks to ensure bond integrity and avoid any damage to the hair. To voluntarily remove the extensions, solvents to dissolve the glue can be purchased at most beauty supply stores. Special care instructions are also generally provided to avoid damage to the natural hair.

Every woman is dreams about long silky hair. However, it is not possible for all to get lustrous locks of hair. However, new cosmetic technologies have made it possible to get hair extensions by numerous methods. One of the most effective ways is to attach hair extensions directly to your hair by using heated glue sticks. A glue gun is used to heat the glue sticks and melts the glue.

How to Glue in Hair Extension? Some of the ways to glue in hair extension are as follows:

U Tip hair extension method: First part your hair into sections and slightly twist it each part. Use U tip strand and lay the sectioned hair. Then melt the glue tip. Role and seal the tip. The U tip hair is attached. It can be removed easily with the help of a remover. It is a temporary hair extension only.

Hot glue gun method: Glue gun is used in hair extension which has glue sticks. The gun will heat the glue sticks and melts the glue. Then hair extension and glue are directly attached to the hair. Large size glue guns about 12 mm are available in the online shops.

Bonding glue method: This is the simplest method to glue in hair extension. Bonding glue is applied onto the weft of the hair extension and then it is attached to the human hair. It can be easily removed with the remover. Bonding glue remover is available in the net shops and it is suitable for cold bonding glues. However, you should not use this to remove hot and melted glue sticks.

Using hair extensions glue may sound simple, but it can damage your real hair if not done correctly along with proper care and maintenance. It requires experience with hair extensions to get it right so they can look fabulous on you. Properly Prepare Your Hair and the Hair Extensions and than:

1. Wash and thoroughly dry your hair. You should not use conditioning products that contain a lot of oil.

2. Use the comb and hair clips to section off your hair where you would like to add the extensions.

3. Hold the hair wefts up to your scalp where you have parted your hair to measure how wide they should be.

4. Cut the hair wefts at the appropriate width.

5. Glue the Hair Extensions and Style Your Hair.

6. Turn over the hair weft you just trimmed so that you can carefully place the glue on the inside top strip if you are using a bonding glue. If you want to use a hot glue gun, proceed to Step 4.

7. Quickly and before the glue can dry, place the weft along the scalp where you have parted your hair. Be careful not to get glue on your hair. The weft should be placed flush to the scalp. Hold for approximately 30 seconds.

8. Run the blow dryer along your scalp where you have placed the hair weft. This will help the glue dry and secure the extensions. Proceed to Step 6.

9. To use a hot glue gun to bond your extensions, put the glue stick inside the gun and let it heat up.

10. Once the glue is hot, it should be placed on the hair weft and attached directly to your own hair. Hold for a moment to make sure it is secure. No blow dryer is necessary.

11. Repeat this process until you have added all of the extensions. If your hair is straight, you may find it necessary to use a flatiron to blend the extensions and your real hair.

Bonding glue is the simplest type of all hair extensions glue ever used. It is so easy to use because all you have to do is to apply in onto the weft of the hair extension and then attached to the human hair. This can also be easily removed with bonding glue remover available in several shops However, using this remover is not advisable in removing hot and melted glue sticks.

Each hair extension is attached to the natural hair using a glue gun. The glue gun melts the glue making it adhere to the hair and hair extension. The hair and the hair extensions are rolled together using the fingers to make sure the two sections of hair are well bonded. The glue will rapidly cool and harden. In order for the glue to properly adhere the hair needs to be clean and free of conditioner. Hair extensions look great but when it's time to take them out it can be a hassle for inexperienced people.

Removing the glue completely from the hair can be pretty difficult so a lot of patience is needed. If you can't afford to go to a saloon to get your glue on hair extensions removed you can try to do it yourself.

To remove the glue from the hair you can use:

•Glue remover available in beauty supply stores. It removes the glue from the hair by breaking the glues adherence. Apply the glue remover on the bonds and let it sit. Brush the glue out gently to avoid hair breakage using a fine tooth comb.

•Baby oil can also be used to remove the glue. The oil will cause the glue to slide off. Rub the baby oil onto the bond using your fingers to loosen them up. Brush the glue out using a fine tooth comb. It will be pretty difficult so be patience and gentle with your hair.

•Nail polish remover can be used to remove the hair only it needs to be used in small amounts and on one section at a time because it is harsh on the hair. Nail polish remover contains acetone which can dissolve the glue.

•Conditioner can make the glue separate from the hair. The conditioner needs to be left on the hair for a while to penetrate it. Brush gently the glue out. You need to repeat the process several times in order to remove the glue completely.

Remember to shampoo well and use conditioner. Be patient and gentle with your hair to minimize the damage.

Tips and Warnings

Bonding glue generally comes in two colours: black and yellow. If you are using bonding glue, be careful not to get any glue on your natural hair, as this may cause damage. Do not use hair products with a lot of oil, because they may cause the hair extensions to slip and fall out. When you are ready to remove the extensions, you can purchase a special glue remover made for extensions..Hair bonding glue should be used only for a short time. If you would like to keep the extensions in for an extended amount of time, you may want to consider sew-in extensions or another, more permanent method.

Great post, we appreciate the details as well, because a lot of students just getting out of cosmetology school don't even get this information.

Just for FYI have you all ever tried the Take Down Remover Cream for removing and detangling braids and hair extensions. It will save the hair and time for hair stylists as well. Especially the with bonding glue-which can be so messy.
