Glue in Hair Extension

Hair Extensions are used to change a person's appearance by making his or her hair look longer and fuller, or by adding colour. It is common for women who desire to quickly have longer hair to use hair extensions to achieve the desired length. These extensions can be clipped, glued, sewn, or woven into a person’s natural hair. To glue hair extensions, you will need extension wefts and the proper glue, which can usually be purchased at beauty supply stores. Glue hair extensions adhere best to hair that is freshly washed and completely dry. Unless using specialized extensions that are wavy or curly, extensions generally work best on hair that is first straightened. Wavy, curly, and textured hair extensions typically are designed to accommodate all hair types.

It usually is easier to manage hair and place the glue hair extensions after separating the hair into smaller sections. Once the hair is in sections, you can then begin working layer by layer from the bottom up. A long-handled rattail comb can be helpful in parting the hair and managing any tangles. Cut the weft of hair to the width of desired hair sections, and apply the bonding glue along the top of the hair wefts. Finally, press the weft to the hair about 1/2-inch (about 1.27 cm) away from the scalp. This process can be sped up by using heat, such as from a hair dryer, to dry the glue for 30 to 45 seconds. The number of extensions needed varies by how much bulk is desired. Most professionals that glue hair extensions prefer to use wefts that are 1/2 inch (about 1.27 cm) or less wide, and place them on small sections of the hair all over the scalp. This helps create a more natural look and makes the extensions easier to style and care for.

Some types of Hair Extensions are made with glue already applied to the tips. These are called "pre-tipped" and require an extension iron to melt the glue and connect it to the hair. This makes them easier to apply in smaller sections all across the head and reduces any possible mess. Another type of glue hair extensions requires hot glue and a glue gun, and is generally performed only by professionals in a salon. Most glue hair extensions will last up to three months before needing to be touched up or re-applied, but should be checked every few weeks to ensure bond integrity and avoid any damage to the hair. To voluntarily remove the extensions, solvents to dissolve the glue can be purchased at most beauty supply stores. Special care instructions are also generally provided to avoid damage to the natural hair.

Every woman is dreams about long silky hair. However, it is not possible for all to get lustrous locks of hair. However, new cosmetic technologies have made it possible to get hair extensions by numerous methods. One of the most effective ways is to attach hair extensions directly to your hair by using heated glue sticks. A glue gun is used to heat the glue sticks and melts the glue.

How to Glue in Hair Extension? Some of the ways to glue in hair extension are as follows:

U Tip hair extension method: First part your hair into sections and slightly twist it each part. Use U tip strand and lay the sectioned hair. Then melt the glue tip. Role and seal the tip. The U tip hair is attached. It can be removed easily with the help of a remover. It is a temporary hair extension only.

Hot glue gun method: Glue gun is used in hair extension which has glue sticks. The gun will heat the glue sticks and melts the glue. Then hair extension and glue are directly attached to the hair. Large size glue guns about 12 mm are available in the online shops.

Bonding glue method: This is the simplest method to glue in hair extension. Bonding glue is applied onto the weft of the hair extension and then it is attached to the human hair. It can be easily removed with the remover. Bonding glue remover is available in the net shops and it is suitable for cold bonding glues. However, you should not use this to remove hot and melted glue sticks.

1. Wash and thoroughly dry your hair. You should not use conditioning products that contain a lot of oil.

2. Use the comb and hair clips to section off your hair where you would like to add the extensions.

3. Hold the hair wefts up to your scalp where you have parted your hair to measure how wide they should be.

4. Cut the hair wefts at the appropriate width.

5. Glue the Hair Extensions and Style Your Hair.

6. Turn over the hair weft you just trimmed so that you can carefully place the glue on the inside top strip if you are using a bonding glue. If you want to use a hot glue gun, proceed to Step 4.

7. Quickly and before the glue can dry, place the weft along the scalp where you have parted your hair. Be careful not to get glue on your hair. The weft should be placed flush to the scalp. Hold for approximately 30 seconds.

8. Run the blow dryer along your scalp where you have placed the hair weft. This will help the glue dry and secure the extensions. Proceed to Step 6.

9. To use a hot glue gun to bond your extensions, put the glue stick inside the gun and let it heat up.

10. Once the glue is hot, it should be placed on the hair weft and attached directly to your own hair. Hold for a moment to make sure it is secure. No blow dryer is necessary.

11. Repeat this process until you have added all of the extensions. If your hair is straight, you may find it necessary to use a flatiron to blend the extensions and your real hair.

Each hair extension is attached to the natural hair using a glue gun. The glue gun melts the glue making it adhere to the hair and hair extension. The hair and the hair extensions are rolled together using the fingers to make sure the two sections of hair are well bonded. The glue will rapidly cool and harden. In order for the glue to properly adhere the hair needs to be clean and free of conditioner. Hair extensions look great but when it's time to take them out it can be a hassle for inexperienced people.

To remove the glue from the hair you can use:

•Glue remover available in beauty supply stores. It removes the glue from the hair by breaking the glues adherence. Apply the glue remover on the bonds and let it sit. Brush the glue out gently to avoid hair breakage using a fine tooth comb.

•Baby oil can also be used to remove the glue. The oil will cause the glue to slide off. Rub the baby oil onto the bond using your fingers to loosen them up. Brush the glue out using a fine tooth comb. It will be pretty difficult so be patience and gentle with your hair.

•Nail polish remover can be used to remove the hair only it needs to be used in small amounts and on one section at a time because it is harsh on the hair. Nail polish remover contains acetone which can dissolve the glue.

•Conditioner can make the glue separate from the hair. The conditioner needs to be left on the hair for a while to penetrate it. Brush gently the glue out. You need to repeat the process several times in order to remove the glue completely.

Remember to shampoo well and use conditioner. Be patient and gentle with your hair to minimize the damage.

Tips and Warnings

Bonding glue generally comes in two colours: black and yellow. If you are using bonding glue, be careful not to get any glue on your natural hair, as this may cause damage. Do not use hair products with a lot of oil, because they may cause the hair extensions to slip and fall out. When you are ready to remove the extensions, you can purchase a special glue remover made for extensions..Hair bonding glue should be used only for a short time. If you would like to keep the extensions in for an extended amount of time, you may want to consider sew-in extensions or another, more permanent method.

Hair Weaving V/s Hair Transplant

Hair Weaving V/s Hair Transplant
Weaving of Hair is as the name suggests where new hair is woven on to scalp. It is the addition of hair which can be real or synthetic and the science of adding this hair (any kind) to the existing scalp is called hair weaving. It is a boon to those who suffer from hair loss. Hair weaving is a sure way of additional hair and it looks good as well. Yes, the effects of hair weaving can be defined by the way the hair looks after weaving is performed / done.

Hair weaving, if done amateur or by a person who is not a pro/professional, then the effect looks fake and the hair looks very artificially placed and gives out an impact of un-real hair. Hair weaving is a good hair job that is done as an aid to help hair look full and to assist those with the problem of hair loss of any kind on scalp.

The difference between hair weaving and hair transplant is very obvious, is it not? The definition of hair weaving involves new hair –whether real (human) hair or artificial (synthetic hair) (synthetic hair is seen on wigs) which is attached to scalp or woven on the scalp to add to the existing hair structure, whereas Hair Transplants or hair transplantation is done by removing hair follicles that exist on one’s own scalp from the behind area of the head to be placed at the area of hair loss (mostly people experience it in the front of the head, since the front of the head has hair follicles that are not bald-resistant like the follicles at the behind of the head).

Since hair transplant is done with one’s own hair follicles there is the scope for hair to look more natural and more individualistic as the follicles are part of one’s own head. In the case of hair weaving though, the effects can be superb and very natural looking, the truth is the key lies in the expert who’s hand it is done by, because he or she, as a surgeon or doctor would understand, which hair will sit and blend the best with the present hair type or hair of the person undergoing hair weaving.

All those men and women who are suffering from random hair loss; Hair weaving is a process by which hair is woven on to your scalp permanently by some artificial method. There is ideally no proper medication or cure for hair loss. Excessive hair loss gives rise to baldness which is ugly and socially unacceptable. Moreover you may lose your self confidence and may be unwilling to socialize for being bald suddenly. Hair weaving is a boon for all such people. Several hair weaving institutes have come up in different parts of the world. Be your old self once more by undergoing hair weaving at any of the reputed hair care salons.

Hair weaving can be done by both men and women. Surprisingly hair problems are more prevalent among men and consequentially hair weaving is more popular with them. But women can always go for it without any hesitation.

Essentials of Hair Weaving
Essentials of Hair Weaving: Hair is weaved on to the scalp in wefts. Wefts are prepared by tying hair together with thread. Wefts can be either hand made or machine made. Hand made wefts are quite expensive. Usually the customers go for artificial wefts as they are very affordable and easily available. But if you want your woven hair stay on for a longer duration hand made wefts are the best choice.

Weaving hair is a very fine process. Wefts are the basic requirement of hair weaving. You can choose from heavy, medium or light wefts. The medium wefts are the most popular among the three varieties. In some techniques bulk hair is required instead of wefts. Braiding and stand bonding are the two hair weaving styles where bulk hair is commonly used.

Cord Tracking Technique: The cord tracking hair weaving technique is applicable for both curly and straight hair. In this process thin cords are fixed on the scalp and threads are stitched on the cords. The cord tracks are prepared to retain an individual’s natural hair style. Finally the main weave is attached to the scalp which covers the cords weaved at the outset.

Tree Braiding Technique: This technique is also known as the invisible hair weaving technique and is perhaps the most popular among hair weaving styles. In this technique hair is woven or braided amidst your natural hair. This technique involves no chemicals and thus is preferred by many. Tree braiding hair weaving technique does not last for a long time and needs recurrent touch-ups.

Strand Bond hair weaving technique: Strand bond hair weaving is a process in which hair strands are interwoven in an individual’s scalp by using strong chemical adhesives. It’s a very enduring process sand requires very little maintenance.
